Hi there and welcome back for Day 3 of Power Poppy's August Release! I am so glad you popped back in for a visit and I hope you have been enjoying all of the Power Poppy blog festivities this week. Tomorrow will be the finale with all of the Bloomies getting together for one last hop showing off all of the new stamp sets....and the best part is, they will be available in the store! Yay! Have you made a list yet? ;) You might be wanting to add this next sweet set to that list.....just take a look at So Grateful...
Ain't she a beaut? There are two gorgeous images in this set and some beautifully scripted sentiments for expressing your gratitude. It also come with a couple of little grass and flower bits so you can create a little landscape scene....or use them on tiny tags, or whatever you want to do with them! ;) Let me show you what I created with this lovely set....
I started by stamping this amazing image in Memento's Espresso Truffle ink on to Papertrey Ink's Rustic White card stock. Next, I set in to coloring it up with my Copics....I won't lie, I spent a fair amount of time on this image because I had it in my head that I wanted to color the chair up to look like an old, chippy painted antique chair. I tried several different colors until I ended up using a combination of Warm and Cool Neutrals with a bit of Earth tones and blues mixed in.....it didn't turn out exactly like I envisioned but I think I just need a little more practice achieving that look. I colored up the rest of the image and then die cut it with a Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A die. I sponged on some Ranger Distress inks in Old Paper, Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap, and Tumbled Glass, added a little gold leafing around the edges with my Krylon 18 KY Gold Leafing pen, hit some of the blooms and pumpkin with my Wink of Stella Clear brush pen, stamped my sentiment, then layered it with another panel of trimmed Rustic White card stock.
I built my card base and layers around the image panel....the finished card size ended up being 4 7/8" x 6 1/8". I layered a couple of patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's "Follow Your Heart-Be Amazing" 6x6 paper, added a little punched border with a Stampin' Up! punch and stitched the panels together. I added my ribbon and notched out a place on my image panel so it could cozy up to my bow and adhered everything together. The image was popped up with foam dimensionals. You may notice the chair has a little shine to it....I added Rangers Crackle Accents to the chair to try and give it a chipped texture....which it did, but I think I added it too quickly after coloring (pretty much immediately...;)) because some of my dark gray shading ended up looking a little muddled. So word of caution here....let your image set for a bit before adding anything to it. I am sure I was impatient and hurried it along....lol. ;)
Don't you just love all of the sweet detail in this image? As always, this was a dream to color up! Wait til you see the other image in action....equally gorgeous! So why don't you check out what those wonderfully talented Bloomie sisters of mine have created for your viewing pleasure and make sure you leave them a little love while you're there. Remember tomorrow is the big blog hop showcasing all of the sets and then you can make some of these (or all of these....;) your own! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you back here tomorrow! Until then, take care! :)
